Great Role-Models I could sit here for hours and I still would not be able to mention all of the blogs out there that deserve it. There are so many unbelievable writers with amazing pages, and I know they have worked incredibly hard to earn their followings. If it weren't for those blogs and the inspiration they provide me, I would not be doing what I love today. Kind Authors Personally, I have only had one major interaction with an author, but there have been many little run-ins with them online, and every single author has been kind. Some will comment on posts when their books have been featured, and others have even reposted my pictures. Every time this happens, I am always sure to remind myself that they don't have to do these things. I know I'm not a big platform for them to be supporting, so the fact that they pay any attention to my little baby blog is such an honor. I hope that I am able to go out and meet some of my favorite authors in person in the future. Support The support in this specific community is beyond anything I could've imagined when I started this blog. There are so many other bloggers who are more than happy to give each other shout outs, answer one another's question of the day, and participate in group activities and tags. We all want the absolute best for each other, which isn't something you find in all communities. It's so nice to know that there is always somewhere I can go at the end of the day where the people who all share a common love will be there to support me. Lack of Trolls Let's be real, here. People don't want to troll book lovers. It's just a fact. Nobody wants to make fun of the nerds because the only thing they could say to us is, "Hey, you're such a nerd." And our response as a whole would be, "Oh my gosh, I know, right?" There's nothing better than knowing what you put out online will be almost 98% protected from the people who don't have anything better to do than make fun of something you enjoy. Abundance of Inspiration As long as I blog, I will never run out of ideas, and I am very confident saying that. There are many different bloggers out there providing so much inspiration, it's hard to not get new ideas. That's why I follow over 700 accounts on my bookstagram. I am able to see a new wave of different pictures every time I log in. My Instagram wouldn't be nearly as good as it is today if I didn't have all the inspiration it needed to grow. Pretty Covers If you didn't already know, my dream job would be to design book covers, so the fact that I can be a part of a community that thrives on the work of great graphic designers blows my mind. I hope that one day the books that I've designed are the ones that are shown off on social media. AESTHETICS Nothing is more satisfying than clicking on someone's profile and seeing a beautiful theme put together. As a fellow photographer, I am so envious of other people and their ability to put together such unique themes. The only reason I have a "theme" is because I take almost all of my pictures in the sun room of my house, so consequently they all match. I love how all these different pieces fit together to create a certain emotion or feeling in people. Socks I LOVE SOCKS. And I can justify buying fun socks that I would never wear out of the house by taking cute pictures in them for my blog. These pictures usually end up being some of my favorites, and I look forward to adding more socks to my collection. Giveaways Even though I haven't been lucky enough to win one, the book community is always giving away books. If there is a book out there you've been wanting, odds are there is probably someone out there giving away a copy. I don't know of any other group of people that give away more items than book people. They're so much fun, I've even hosted a give away in the past! Hopefully I'll be able to do another one really soon. Love of Books My last point, but certainly the most important one, is how much my love for books has grown in my time online. Having such a great community with whom to share this love is something I couldn't have ever imagined a year and a half ago. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in my blog up to this point, and thank you to everyone who will be a part of it in the future. I couldn't be more appreciative of you all. I am so glad I've had the opportunity to have this community in my life. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your holiday weekend! The thankful blogger, Ashton It is thanks to my evening reading alone that I am still more or less sane. — W.G. Sebald, Vertigo
