who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.
Since April is National Poetry Month, my librarian decided that we should write some impromptu poetry to celebrate. He gave us 5 pictures from Academy-Award Nominated short films, and as a group we came up with three words to describe each picture. Then we had to create a poem about the picture using the three words. I chose the picture from Pearl, by Patrick Osborne. The words were somber, lonely, and teenager.
This poem started out as a few lines describing a photo, but about a third of the way through, it turned into something really personal, and I am super proud of it. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
April Showers Bring...Books?
A new month brings a new batch of book releases! April seems to be the month of romances, and I can't wait to see how the book community responds to these new books. Let me know if any of you are planning on reading these stories.
