Save the Date Book Club Discussion: Part 1

8/29/2018

Over the summer, two of my friends and I thought it would be fun to start a book club together! We decided to read Save the Date by Morgan Matson together, and have been reading a chapter or two a night for the past week and a half. This weekend, we got together to eat lunch and discuss the first half of the book, and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get my IRL friends in on the book blogging fun!*

*Please note that this blog post is in a discussion format, and our answers may contain minor spoilers for the first half of Save the Date.

Keynote Three: Senior Year

8/22/2018

Back to School season is in full swing, and to celebrate the first day of my last year of high school, I thought it would be fun to put together a few of my favorite books about senior year. The three that I have chosen (Which all happen to be purple, my favorite color if you couldn’t tell. I love it.) are the ones that most accurately represents my senior experiences so far. If you have any other recommendations for senior year books, please leave them in the comments below. I’d love to read them during the school year!

Keynote Three: Books That Feature a Waffle House

8/18/2018

Welcome back to my small corner of the blogosphere. Recently, I’ve been wanting to start up one or two new series here on my blog, and this post is the start of the first one! “Keynote Three” is going to be a series where I recommend books based on common tropes, characters, or other aspects of the stories. This one features three books where the characters visit a Waffle House at one point or another in the story. Be sure to let me know in the comments what topics I should consider in the future.

Jane Eyre, by: Charlotte Brontë - Buddy Read Review!

8/14/2018

Over the past two weeks, my Instagram pal @thegirlonthego_reads and I have been buddy reading Jane Eyre! Since we both run our own review blogs, we thought it would be fun to do a review on both of our pages. Mine is going to be more of a discussion type post, and hers will be in more of a traditional format, so I’ll be sure to link her information at the end of this post.

Note: this post is more of a discussion type of review between the two of us, so there are minor spoilers out there for those of you who haven’t read it. But the last two questions we talk about our experience with the buddy read, so make sure you scroll down to the bottom to check that out.

Precommendations: Volume 2, Issue 8

8/11/2018

Hello, August! A new month brings the start of the "Back to School" season, cooler weather, and (of course) a new issue of Precommendations! This post is, admittedly, a little late this month, but I filled last week to the brim with BookTube-A-Thon. So, unfortunately, this post is coming to you this weekend instead of last weekend. I am so excited to share all of the new books that are coming out this month. Since there are so many coming out this month, I couldn't make myself choose any one book over another; they all sound so good! Make sure you let me know what books you are looking forward to this month in the comments.

BookTube-A-Thon 2018 Wrap Up: 1 Girl, 3 Books, and 180 Nose Blows?

8/8/2018

Welcome back! After hyping up #BTAT2018 for a full year, my reading experience was a bit lackluster, if I’m being entirely honest. I didn’t get to read and participate in this year’s BookTube-A-Thon as much as I had planned, but I still had a blast when I could. Along with reading 3 books and completing 2 (and a half?) challenges, I also participated in the first five days of the Instagram challenges. Since I did end up finishing my fair share of challenges, I compiled all of my entries into one blog post for those of you who haven’t seen them on my social media (if you don’t already, go follow me on Instagram and Twitter. I’m @the_bookinsider on both!).
