Hello, book lovers! It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. With the end of the school year (and my high school career) nearing, my school work and scholarship applications have increased little by little. So, for the next month or so, I might be on and off with my posting schedule, but I promise that I will be back to blogging full-time this summer!
With that being said, I’m so excited to bring you a couple of April releases I am dying to get my hands on. Let me know what books you’re looking forward to in the comments so I can check them out.

When Summer Ends
by Jessica Pennington

Aiden Emerson is an all-star pitcher and the all-around golden boy of Riverton. Or at least he was, before he quit the team the last day of junior year without any explanation. How could he tell people he's losing his vision at seventeen?
Straight-laced Olivia thought she had life all figured out. But when her dream internship falls apart, her estranged mother comes back into her life, and her long-time boyfriend ghosts her right before summer break, she's starting to think fate has a weird sense of humor.
Each struggling to find a new direction, Aiden and Olivia decide to live summer by chance. Every fleeting adventure and stolen kiss is as fragile as a coin flip in this heartfelt journey to love and self-discovery from the author of Love Songs & Other Lies.

I couldn’t be more excited for contemporary season! With spring warming up the weather and summer right around the corner, I’ve been in the mood for light and fluffy books. This book sounds like my kind of summer binge; it’s got a cute romance and a plot based on adventure and living in the moment. It doesn’t seem to have a lot of release hype, so I’m excited to see how it is received. I just hope it’s as cute as I think it will be!

The Red Scrolls of Magic
by Cassandra Clare

All Magnus Bane wanted was a vacation—a lavish trip across Europe with Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter who against all odds is finally his boyfriend. But as soon as the pair settles in Paris, an old friend arrives with news about a demon-worshipping cult called the Crimson Hand that is bent on causing chaos around the world. A cult that was apparently founded by Magnus himself. Years ago. As a joke.
Now Magnus and Alec must race across Europe to track down the Crimson Hand and its elusive new leader before the
cult can cause any more damage. As if it wasn’t bad enough that their romantic getaway has been sidetracked, demons are now dogging their every step, and it is becoming harder to tell friend from foe. As their quest for answers becomes increasingly dire, Magnus and Alec will have to trust each other more than ever—even if it means revealing the secrets they’ve both been keeping.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS SERIES WAS HAPPENING UNTIL NOW??? Ever since reading The Bane Chronicles, I’ve been DYING for a spinoff book about Magnus and Alex. I am so excited to read about their crazy adventures. They’re sooooo adorable! Every time I pick up a Cassandra Clare book, I am always blown away by how intricate yet entertaining they are. No one else can build a world in such detail while making you laugh, cry, and swoon all in one story like Cassie can. If you haven’t ever read a Shadowhunter book, you are 12/10 missing out.

Serious Moonlight
by Jenn Bennett

After an awkward first encounter, Birdie and Daniel are forced to work together in a Seattle hotel where a famous author leads a mysterious and secluded life in this romantic contemporary novel from the author of Alex, Approximately.
Mystery-book aficionado Birdie Lindberg has an overactive imagination. Raised in isolation and home-schooled by strict grandparents, she’s cultivated a whimsical fantasy life in which she plays the heroic detective and every stranger is a suspect. But her solitary world expands when
she takes a job the summer before college, working the graveyard shift at a historic Seattle hotel.
In her new job, Birdie hopes to blossom from introverted dreamer to brave pioneer, and gregarious Daniel Aoki volunteers to be her guide. The hotel’s charismatic young van driver shares the same nocturnal shift and patronizes the waterfront Moonlight Diner where she waits for the early morning ferry after work. Daniel also shares her appetite for intrigue, and he’s stumbled upon a real-life mystery: a famous reclusive writer—never before seen in public—might be secretly meeting someone at the hotel.
To uncover the writer’s puzzling identity, Birdie must come out of her shell…discovering that most confounding mystery of all may be her growing feelings for the elusive riddle that is Daniel.

I read Starry Eyes by Jenn last summer and was blown away, so I am so excited to pick up her next book. From what I’ve read of her so far, Jenn’s books are the perfect summer contemporary to hit you in the feels. I’m also super excited because this book has to do with mysteries and authors, which is the recipe for a great story. This book has a lot of potential, and I can’t wait to read it sometime soon!

Did I miss any of your anticipated April releases? Let me know in the comments so I can add them to my list!
